Clarion Call Part II: Hindrances to Excelling in Life

Apathy; Lack of interest, concern, or emotion; indifference

It appears that the unsaved people of this world are desperate to find some purpose for life but they don’t know where to look. They imitate Hollywood actors, hip-hop artists, and anyone that they perceive are living a more successful life than they are. Then we have the Christians who are looking at their brothers and sisters in Christ and comparing gifting, anointing and other God-given graces.

Some segments of both of these groups don’t have the desire or the motivation needed to really seek to hear a living word that will cause change in every area of their lives. Read and meditate on 1 Samuel 2; 30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Rebellion; resistance to or defiance of any authority, control, or tradition

This is a stronghold in the minds of believers and unbelievers alike. It may manifest differently, but if a person’s life is rooted in rebellion against the creator, there is no possibility that the person will hear God on a consistent basis. From the beginning of time, God and man communicated regularly until man rebelled against the spoken word of God. This brings us to another point. If a person does not receive the word of the Lord, they must realize that there are consequences. There are penalties for disobedience, which is rooted in rebellion. The act of defying God brought total destruction to Pharaoh and the Egyptian army.

1 Samuel 15: 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Tradition

Mark 7 declares that the people were letting go of the commands of God so that they could hold onto human traditions. That happens so frequently in the body of Christ today. People miss the different moves of God because it is so comfortable to stay within the boundaries of what H

e has already done. They are complacent within their denominational rules regardless of how the Spirit is directing. New wineskins must contain the new wine that is being poured out. We must yield to the anointing of God once we recognize it, and that becomes possible when we develop true relationship with a personal savior.

Mark 7 King James Version (KJV)

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Deception

When people have itching ears, they will be drawn to those who can tickle the flesh. The truth shall stand forever. It doesn’t matter if it is packaged differently or not. When we receive revelation of God and from God, it is our duty to release it in a timely manner. Dying souls are dependent on our testimonies of a living savior. The bible is explicit concerning those who will arise to deceive others.

Matthew 24:24 King James Version (KJV)

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

So I exhort you on today to seek the Lord that he may give you revelation of his word!
